There’s no better way to celebrate the Holiday’s than being able to DJ a wedding reception for our US Navy men and women. I was so honored to be able to play for Sara and Carson’s wedding at The Black Stallion event home in Corolla, N.C. All of Sara and Carson’s friends, family, and even co-workers made their way to the coast to celebrate a long awaited Outer Banks beach wedding.
During cocktail hour everyone gathered upstairs to enjoy a nice mix of Christmas jazz, drinks, and some great food passed by Basnight’s Lone Cedar and Catering. As the dinner hour approached we got all the parents and wedding party ready for Introductions. For the parents we played “Love is a wonderful thing” by Michael Bolton, then the wedding party to “Bring em’ out” by T.I. Finally, Sara and Carson made their grand entrance to “I gotta feeling” by The Black Eyed Peas. There was a welcome given by the father of bride followed by a blessing from Phil Faulkner. We continued playing Christmas jazz and some slow country and a few oldies.
After dinner Sara and Carson had their first dance played live by Sara’s uncle Steve Burke with “Can I trust you with my heart” by Travis Tritt. Sara danced with her father to “Little Miss Magic” by Jimmy Buffett and Carson and his mother danced to “All you need is love” by The Beatles. Carson’s Dad decided to steal his bride back. At that point they wanted to invite all married couples out to the dance floor to finish the dance.
One of the biggest highlights of the night was Sara’s niece Gabriella singing Olivia Olson’s version of “All I want for Christmas.” We also have some great photos to prove it thanks to Doug and Michelle Haber with Outer Banks Productions.
I ended the night with an all time classic favorite, “I had the time of my life” from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. This got everyone up moving, dancing and singing along! Such a fun night with a great group of people! Thank you Sara, Carson, and all that you do for our country and it’s freedom. Thank you for choosing Coastal DJ & Video for your big day!
