This past Friday, September 11, 2015, was an exciting day for the families and friends of Brittany and Martin Perez. The young couple were married on the deck at 128 South in Wilmington! The rain clouds had parted just before the start of the wedding ceremony. The sun was reflecting off of the Cape Fear River in the background as the young couple recited their vows. Once they were announced as newlyweds, the celebration was underway.
The cocktail party started off the celebration out on the deck of the spacious venue. The Sun was shining and the tone was festive as everyone enjoyed the music, cocktails, and hors d’oeuvres. Everyone then gathered inside for the grand entrance of the newlyweds and the wedding party. Mr. and Mrs. Perez were announced to much fanfare and applause, along with AC/DC’s Thunderstruck.
After the introductions everyone sat down to enjoy a fantastic meal accompanied by Classic songs by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and others. The young couple then cut their cake and were congratulated by a series of toasts. Once the toasts were finished, everyone headed outside again for the start of the dance party.
Brittany and Martin shared their very first dance to “Now & Forever” by Richard Marx. Then Brittany shared a dance with her father, and Martin shared a dance with his mother. Before open dance time, the newlyweds tested how much they knew about each other by playing the shoe game. This was fun for all, as we witnessed that the newlyweds are not quite on the same page with everything quite yet. Once the dance party was underway, everyone filled the dance floor out on the deck.
We had a blast outside by the river during the dance party, but everyone agreed it was over way too soon. It was a pleasure to be a part of such a special day for Brittany and Martin.
