David Hamerman and Chelsea Blackwell said “I do” on May 20, 2017 at The Whalehead Club in Corolla, North Carolina. The North Lawn of the historic club provided a beautiful backdrop for this fun and romantic Outer Banks wedding and reception.
Our Outer Banks DJ introduced the wedding party to “Treasure” by Bruno Mars. David and Chelsea chose ‘Perfect” by Ed Sheeran as their wedding first dance selection. Their sentimental sides shined through in their choice of father/daughter and mother/son dances. Chelsea and her dad danced to “Forever Young” by Rod Stewart while David and his mom picked LeeAnn Womack’s “I Hope you Dance.” The bouquet and garter toss showed off the couple’s fun side with “Wannabe” by the Spice Girls and “You Shook me all Night” by AC/DC. Rock, pop and country selections provided the soundtrack for dancing, dining and mingling throughout the rest of the evening.
David and Chelsea chose our Love Story Signature Package to capture all of the memories from their special day. In addition to the traditional wedding video, we arrived early to get behind-the-scenes footage such as the wedding party and bride and groom getting ready and preparing to walk down the aisle. Next, it was on to the first look and the full ceremony. We then caught all of the events at the reception … from introductions and first dances to toasts, cake cutting, bouquet tossing and dancing the night away.
The couple’s eight hour wedding video package included:
Our Outer Banks videographers used high-definition cameras to capture drone videography footage of the beautiful wedding and surrounding landscape and seascape. The new husband and wife will no doubt enjoy watching and sharing this unique perspective of their wedding and reception with their family and friends.
David and Chelsea worked closely with wedding planner Sondra Meinhardt of An OBX Affair to plan their perfect day at the Whalehead Club. Steamers Raw Bar, an Outer Banks favorite, provided guests with a delicious selection of seafood. Katya Melvin Photography snapped formal and casual shots of the wedding party, family members and friends while florist Renee Landry’s stunning creations wowed wedding guests.
These are the pros that helped make the Hamerman wedding a truly unique celebration:
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Whalehead Club dates to the 1920s and features Tiffany glass, a Steinway piano and ornate marble furnishings. This romantic setting, located upon acres of perfectly manicured lawns accented by stately oak trees, a gazebo, a footbridge and the stunning sunsets of Currituck Sound is one of the most popular wedding venues on the Outer Banks. To highlight the beauty of its setting and the overall theme of the ceremony, the Hamermans chose to use unique wedding uplighting features, which made the whole reception even more memorable.
Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Hamerman! Thank you for choosing Coastal DJ & Video to capture your wedding memories.
