Creasey Mattingly and Keith Lawson came to Kill Devil Hills this past week with their families and a group of close friends to get married and celebrate the event, and that’s exactly what they did. This is DJ Karl with Coastal DJ and Video with details on the latest Outer Banks Wedding event.

It was a beautiful and hot summer day on Thursday August 28; in fact it was absolutely perfect weather for a beach wedding reception. Guests enjoyed sentimental instrumentals while waiting for the ceremony to begin. It was a heartwarming reception and especially touching considering the challenges faced by the families coping with recent tragedy. Joy prevailed as the applause rang through the air after Keith and Creasey said their vows and were united in marriage.

Cocktails, appetizers, and party music greeted the guests as they came inside for the ceremony. The wedding party and newlyweds were introduced to fanfare and selected song for each pair. Keith and Creasy entered the room with huge smiles as Mr. and Mrs. Lawson, and then took to the dance floor for their first dance. The Father and Daughter and Mother and Son dances followed after that, and then a brief toast by the Best Man and the Maid of Honor before dinner was underway.

The Beachside Bistro staff at the Sea Ranch Resort took care of all the culinary delights, as the Beach Boys provided a light and fun mood for the dinner part of the reception. Guests finished their meals and headed to the dance floor to get the real fun started. Young and seasoned guests celebrated together on the dance floor for a mix of music that spanned several decades. The cake cutting gave a moment for guests to catch their breath before the next set. Creasy shared a dance with her mother to “Mama he’s crazy” by the Judds just moments before Keith had me play “For whom the bell tolls” by Metallica. Even the young ones got a chance to help pick the music for all to enjoy. It was an honor to be a part of such a special event. Thank you for having us share in your celebration. Congratulations once more to the newlyweds, let’s hear it for Mr. and Mrs. Keith Lawson!
