Oxley/Garner Wedding at Elizabethan Gardens and 108 Budleigh – March 30, 2013

Sara and Garrett could not have gotten luckier with the day they picked to have a beautiful wedding at The Elizabethan Gardens in Manteo, NC. March 30th was a beautiful day outside, with the sun shining bright and a crisp feeling to the air. Sara picked an instrumental of “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri to walk down the aisle. Although Garrett has never been one to get choked up, your own wedding will get you every time. Although we agree that feigning a cough is the best way to get out of it.

Sara knows that Garrett is a huge Widespread Panic fan, so as a surprise she picked “Walking For Your Love” as the song that the newly minted couple walked out to. We loved that after everything was all said and done, Garrett mentioned the fact that it was awesome his wife did that for him. We think so, too.

The reception kicked off in style at 108 Budleigh in Manteo, as the newlyweds danced to “You Are The Best Thing” by Ray Lamontagne. The welcome was done by the groom, and he handed off the mic for an opening prayer that was everything that it should have been. Dinner was catered by the staff at 108 Budleigh, and it was fantastic as usual, with three different stations. The dessert bar was incredible; Garrett’s mom made Oreo Fudge that was absolutely one of the best things the staff here at Coastal DJ and Video has ever tasted. The photo booth was a big hit, and there was a fresh fruit sangria bar that went over well with just about all the guests.

Garrett and Sara made their vows knowing they were going in to a “house divided” situation, as Sara graduated from NC State and Garrett is an ECU alumnus. Several times throughout the night it was quite easy to hear chants of “purple – gold” over the music! Nevertheless, there was dancing from just about all the guests, and everyone had a great time.

When it came time for the night to close out, Sara and Garrett danced to “I Won’t Give Up” and had an awesome sparkler exit. The bride and groom stuck around for a few minutes to grab some things, and told us they had a great time. That makes us smile.
