What a spectacular Outer Banks wedding for Evan and Lisa at The Hilton Garden Inn in Kitty Hawk! The day started out on the beach overlooking the ocean where family and friends gathered for the perfect beach ceremony. Coastal DJ & Video provided a beach ceremony system for the music and vows, as well as the special songs that were chosen by Lisa and Evan for their perfect beach ceremony.

We played Bach “Air on the G string” for the seating of the parents, groom, officiate, and wedding party. The bride made her entrance to “Canon in D,” by Pachelbel. Vows took place between the couple then a great choice for a recessional was picked out by Evan to “All is you need is love” orchestral version.

Cocktail hour started up inside the pier house after Evan and Lisa were pronounced husband and wife. Wedding music was provided by DJ George Wainwright for guests while the members of the wedding party engaged in a photo session with Matt Lusk from Matt Lusk Photography. The wedding party was eager to get moving towards having some fun after the photo session completed.

Introductions took place next and couldn’t have been more fun as we went back to the 90’s with Wycleff Jean. “Stayin Alive,” that was played for the wedding party! Evan and Lisa were brought into the room for the first time as husband and wife to the classic hit from the king of pop himself – Michael Jackson “Don’t Stop ‘til You get Enough” (What a Rockin’ Intro!). The wedding party continued to dance to Michael Jackson and then one more song by James Brown “Get Up Off of that Thing.”

First dances was next with Evan and Lisa taking it back to the old school with an excellent classic “Stand by Me” from Ben E. King. We invited Mr. Martin out next for a dance with his daughter Lisa to “My Wish” by the Rascal Flatts. As soon as Lisa and Mr. Martin finished the traditional father-daughter dance, we got Evan back to the dance floor for the mother-son dance with Loggins and Messina “House at Poohs Corner,” a special song that Evan and his mother used to sing together.

After wrapping up all the first dances, a wonderful dinner was brought out by the Hilton Garden Inn staff! Toasts were given immediately after dinner by the best man and matron of honor, which set us up for the traditional cake cutting next. “Sugar Sugar” by the Archies was a special request that I made sure got played for Evan and Lisa while they cut their cake.

All kinds of great wedding and party favorites were played to get everyone jamming for this awesome wedding that Evan and Lisa had been planning for some time. After getting everyone out on the dance floor we decided to slow it down to one of my favorites from the 80’s that was used in the movie Back to the Future. Evan gets all the credit for this one “Earth Angel (Will You Be Mine),” by Marvin Berry, and the Starlighters that was originally done by The Penguins in 1954. There was another great classic that I have to mention in this blog that got played right after “Earth Angel” and that was Chuck Berry “Johnny B. Good” that was also done by Marvin Berry and the Enchantment under the sea dance.

We all had a blast for several hours inside the pier house dancing and keeping Evan and Lisa celebrating on their big day! This wedding was customized with great taste and the music had tons of meaning for this couple. That’s what makes being a part of a wedding so special: the choices from each and every great individual and what they love. As a wedding DJ on the Outer Banks, and now friend of Evan and Lisa Miller, I would like to thank you guys for allowing us to help with orchestrating a fantastic Outer Banks wedding!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Evan Miller!
