The mood was festive at The Whalehead Club in Corolla this past Saturday, September 21, 2013. The rainstorm that came through was intense, but not strong enough to rattle the plans for a romantic waterfront wedding ceremony for newlyweds David and Kelly Cordova.

The ceremony took place as planned only slightly behind schedule, as it was raining in torrents at the projected start time. The clouds parted just as quickly as they had come to allow the festivities to continue. We took it as a blessing and started the celebration as soon as they both said ‘I do.’

Guests included friends and family from 10 different states. The staff from Black Pelican Catering served up food and drinks during cocktail hour while the bride and groom got their wedding portraits taken. We provided the rhythmic accompaniment with Kelly and Dave’s request list.

We introduced the wedding party and the newlyweds with fanfare and music, and the bridesmaids and groomsmen took advantage of the spotlight by showing off their dance moves. Once the bride and groom were warmly welcomed, they enjoyed their first dance together as a married couple.

Following the traditional father/daughter and mother/son dances came fantastic food and great dinner music. There were toasts and cake cutting, and then the party really was under way. A great mix of Motown, 80’s rock and pop, and a little bit of funk got everyone on the dance floor.

Modern hits prevailed toward the climax with Journey to top it all off. The energy level was tremendous under the tent at the Whalehead Club in Corolla last Saturday night. This is Karl with Coastal DJ and Video here to congratulate the newlyweds once more.

Let’s hear it for Mr. and Mrs. Cordova!
